Delivering a Transatlantic Knockout: A Remote Post-Production Case Study
Client: NAF (Need a Fixer)
Agency: Unorthodox
Role: Remote Post-Production Pipeline & Lead Editing
The Ambition & The Reality: Event production company NAF needed to capture the raw energy of two major boxing fixtures. The first was Chris Eubank Jr versus Conor Benn in London. The second was Fatal Fury in New York City. The ambition was absolute speed, with a strict directive to deliver all key edits within 24 hours of the final bell. The reality was a harsh logistical constraint. While the London event was straightforward to crew locally, flying a full post-production unit across the Atlantic for the NYC fight was financially and practically unviable. We had to establish a remote editing process that bridged the geographic divide without inflating the budget or causing technical friction.
The Craft & The Workflow: Rather than attempting to build a complex transatlantic network from scratch, we consulted with Unorthodox to leverage existing high-end infrastructure. We partnered with East Coast Digital in New York to handle the physical hardware. They deployed dedicated Mac Pros for the event. A local assistant editor at their facility managed the raw footage ingest directly from the venue and coordinated any technical troubleshooting on the ground.
With the physical media secured in the US, our role shifted to pure execution. We formed a dedicated strike team with the Unorthodox editors. Using Jump Desktop, we dialled directly into the New York machines. This removed the need to transfer massive files across the ocean. By interacting with the local US hardware in near real-time, our team could focus entirely on the craft of the edit while East Coast Digital handled the heavy technical lifting.
The Outcome: The remote setup held up perfectly under intense pressure. By operating directly on the New York network, we delivered all final edits for the high-profile US event comfortably within the brutal 24-hour window. The project proved that when you partner intelligently with specialised local technical hubs, you can execute rapid global delivery without moving a single editor out of their suite.
